Osian's as a world class institution of Art & Cinema has long felt the need to arise in the Design scenario by inculcating its own values over design. Design plays a very pivotal role in generating a certain aesthetic language sensibility in our people. It has a universal say in all the parameters of daily life, having also evolved as a field to make a better living environment for the human race, applicable in all human spaces, whether the tribals in remote corners or astronauts in the unlimited space.
So far our emphasis on design has focused on various in house activities such as:
WORLD-CLASS CATALOGUES
Osian's catalogues have established new benchmarks in content and design and served as the intellectual underpinning to auctions, thus establishing the historical perspective, as the pivotal criterion in building a credible pricing policy for Indian art. Their design content has provided the audience with a thorough understanding of the art and cinema world. They have become Collector Items despite such a rigid framework. Naturally, we will continue to innovate this form of publication.
BOOKS
The design house will take on the publishing world with its refreshing ideas for the book trying to bring back that deep introspective love and respect where style and substance are seamlessly fused.
EVENTS & EXHIBITION DESIGN
The Osian's Design house team is a self sufficient team which carries out organized events at the largest scale and of the highest international quality, from various exhibitions to the Asian & Arab Film Festival OSIAN's CINEFAN venues to Osian's Durand Cup. It specializes in Publicity of the event, various publishings required within the event and also takes on booth designs, backdrops & space design with lighting & acoustics. It creates an aura of great space with high aesthetic sense & efficiency.
OSIANAMA
The culmination of all Design responsibilities will come in effect in Osianama. This will be one of the best designed spaces in the world & will serve as an example for the coming times.
Mr. Kirti Trivedi, one of the foremost Graphic Designers of India, now Professor at IDC (IIT, Powai) will be Chief Advisor to the Design House and under him there will be a team of five young trained designers from NID. Mr. Trivedi has been associated with Osian's since its inception and has developed a very fine understanding with Mr. Neville Tuli on the overall design concept and ethos that now needs to be shared with the public.
